Outcomes are what you are hoping for as a result of those outputs.
Smart Product people have learned to focus on outcomes, to ask “Why?” Why is that feature important to customers or stakeholders? What problem are we trying to solve? Outcomes help raise the level of discussion. I talk about outputs vs. outcomes in Chapter 1 of my book Product Roadmaps Relaunched.
