The egos of stakeholders are a lot of fun, especially when they meet in one messy room. When you are trying to get buy-in for the next phase of a roadmap, tread lightly.

My advice is to meet individually first, hear their perspectives and only get stakeholders together for a final blessing. Then you can explain that anything that came up in your one-on-ones were the stakeholders’ brilliant ideas. If you can give everyone in the room credit for their contributions to the plan, group buy-in is already accomplished. What other tricks are up your product sleeve?
